A Metric for Gravitational Collapse Around a Schwarzschild Black Hole
(World Scientific Publishing, 2023) Erdem, Recai; Demirkaya, Betül; Gültekin, Kemal
We consider the problem of gravitational collapse of a fluid under the effect of a small Schwarzschild black hole (e.g. a primordial one). We assume the fluid initially may be approximated by a uniform homogeneous dust. Starting from this configuration we obtain a class of metrics under some physically justified assumptions. We find that the metric we obtain includes the dust collapse as a subcase. After discussing some basic properties of the solution, we discuss the case of dust collapse in more detail. We find that the radial and tangential pressures outside the horizon may take positive or negative values depending on the values of the parameters.

Can Cpt Be Violated Through Extended Time Reversal?
(World Scientific Publishing, 2001) Erdem, Recai; Ufuktepe, Ünal
We consider the implications of the extension of time reversal through Wigner types and group extensions. We clarify its physical content and apply the results in a toy model. Finally we point out the possibility of violation of CPT in this framework.

Fully Three-Dimensional Analysis of a Photonic Crystal Assisted Silicon on Insulator Waveguide Bend
(World Scientific Publishing, 2018) Eti, Neslihan; Çetin, Zebih; Sözüer, Hüseyin Sami
A detailed numerical study of low-loss silicon on insulator (SOI) waveguide bend is presented using the fully three-dimensional (3D) finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The geometrical parameters are optimized to minimize the bending loss over a range of frequencies. Transmission results for the conventional single bend and photonic crystal assisted SOI waveguide bend are compared. Calculations are performed for the transmission values of TE-like modes where the electric field is strongly transverse to the direction of propagation. The best obtained transmission is over 95% for TE-like modes.
