Article Evaluation of Geothermal Energy Resources in Terms of Exergy Analysis(Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit Üniversitesi, 2018) Hancıoğlu Kuzgunkaya, EbruEnergy is recognized as a crucial element in a country development process. Geothermal resources are a green energy source that can make a considerable contribution in some countries. Also efficient use of resources is important due to availability, economic and environmental issues and comprises the essence of this work. The exergy analysis is a powerful tool for the design, analysis and classification of thermal systems. Using exergy for resource classification benefits their comparison, according to their ability to do work. Specific exergy index (SExI) was calculated to show for classification and capability of some geothermal area. Actual system data are used to assess the district heating system and power plant performance, energy and exergy efficiencies. In this study, specific exergy index for examined field was calculated between 0.026 and 0.947 and sustainability index (SI) was found between 1.250 and 2.782.Book Part Exergetic and Exergoeconomic Aspects of Ground-Source (geothermal) Heat Pumps in Turkey(Taylor & Francis, 2014) Hepbaşlı, Arif; Hancıoğlu Kuzgunkaya, EbruThe demand for energy has recently increased rapidly as a result of the world’s population increase and industrial growth. On the contrary, fossil fuel supply is declining due to depletion of the resources. Moreover, utilization of fossil fuel energy resources has resulted in adverse effects on the global environment. In this regard, there is an urgent need to implement the use of sustainable and environmentally clean energy sources. In this context, renewable energy sources, including geothermal sources, can play a critical role in meeting the energy demands of societies. Article Citation - WoS: 3Citation - Scopus: 4Exergy analysis of food drying processes(Springer Verlag, 2010) Çolak, Neslihan; Balta, Mustafa T.; İçier, Filiz; Hancıoğlu, Ebru; Hepbaşlı, Arif; Erbay, ZaferIt is well known that micro-level system parameters may have some great impact on macro-level energy aspects, the environment, and sustainability. Of course, if one wants to approach these thermodynamically, there are two ways: energy analysis through the first law of thermodynamics and exergy analysis through the second law of thermodynamics. Exergy analysis is an essential tool to expose the impacts of a power generating device on exergy-based sustainability; sustainability is necessary to overcome current ecological, economic, and developmental problems (Dincer and Rosen, 2005). In this regard, some new exergy-based sustainability parameters for a PEM fuel cell have been developed and studied parametrically to investigate how they will help measure the level of environmental impact and sustainable development (Midilli and Dincer, 2009). These types of parameters may also be applied to other energy-related systems.Article Theoretical aspects of some 4-[2,6 derivatives as anti-hiv agents(Akademiai Kiado, 2000) Türker, Lemi; Sudağıdan, MertSome (-)-(1S,4R) -4-[2-amino-6-(substituted)-9H-purin-9-yl]-2-cyclopentene-1-methanol derivatives have been considered for semiempirical treatment at the level of AM1 type calculations. Certain theoretical structure-activity relationship were investigated. © 2000 Akadémiai Kiadó,.
