    Individual Adaptation Determinants and Themes for Environmental Resilience

    It is now an accepted fact that climate change is an event with increasing consequences and that we humans must do something about it. At this stage, the adaptation of individuals plays a key role. In this study, we searched for various behavioral theories and variables for our future study. With an S-question in-depth interview (7 people for sample size) and a survey of 68 actions (77 people for sample size), we investigated what subjects people tend to make changes in their daily lives. As a result, it has emerged that the tendency is to change the vehicles used in transportation. And the majority of the participants think that the partners who need to take action regarding the climate crisis are the service providers (states, NGOs, industry, and companies) rather than the consumers (individuals).

    Exploring the Factors Influencing Big Data Technology Acceptance

    Big Data has received great attention in academic literature and industry papers. Most of the experiments and studies focused on publishing results of big data technologies development, machine learning algorithms, and data analytics. To the best of our knowledge, there is not yet any comprehensive empirical study in the academic literature on big data technology acceptance. The statistical results of this model provide a compelling explanation of the relationships among the antecedent variables and the dependent variables. The analysis of the structural model reveals that the hypothesis tests are significant for 8 out of 12 path relationships. IEEE

    Adoption Factors of Electronic Health Record Systems

    The main goal of the study is to investigate the factors that affect adoption of EHR systems. The adoption has been looked at through four lenses: users' satisfaction, impact on quality of care, infusion and diffusion of the technology. The study incorporates the results of the most important studies in the field. The findings of the research allow decision-makers to select an EHR that better suits needs of the users, to choose a strategy to avoid users' resistance and lack of support. The study offers a comprehensive framework that can be used in different settings, i.e. small and large clinics, developing and developed countries, etc. Also it contributes to the state of knowledge, as it provides an extensive analysis of the factors, both system- and user-related, that affect user adoption and proves applicability of TAM in the healthcare settings.

    Technology Adoption in Emerging Regions: Case of the Smartphone in Saudi Arabia

    This paper examines the adoption of Smartphones in Saudi Arabia. A theoretical research model is developed based on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology. A web-based survey has been used to gather data from randomly selected Smartphone users in Saudi Arabia. For data analysis, SEM approach was followed, SPSS and AMOS were utilized for analyzing data. The results indicate that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, brand influence, perceived enjoyment, and design constructs have a positive and significant relationship with users' behavioral intention to adopt and use Smartphones in Saudi Arabia. © 2020 World Scientific Publishing Company.

    What Will It Take To Adopt Smart Glasses: a Consumer Choice Based Review?

    Wearable technologies have become a reality already. Their impact in some fields has already been seen. We explore the factors which are important and help the adoption of these technologies. Specifically we study the adoption factors of smart glasses. Technology adoption process depends on preferences and needs of people who use the systems under study. We explore these phenomenon through two frameworks: Product Characteristics and User Intention Characteristics. The purpose of the first framework is to examine the effects of smart glass design features; Stand-alone device, field of view, interaction, price, and display resolution on user preference through an experimental study and we use conjoint analysis. The second framework explore many more factors such as self-efficacy, anxiety, involvement, risk-task characteristics, enjoyment, usefulness, ease of use, attitude and intention. A web survey supplemented by visual aids was used.

    Design Study of a Medical Device

    For the new product design in the medical industry, the designer's role is to identify requirements of product by focusing on the target need, demand and market supply. This research aims to explore the main problems of existing crutches in the medical industry with two phases; to identify the crutch design requirements by research and to define market position involving financial analysis with three economic scenarios. Therefore, the study based on a research with reutilize multiple techniques for walking aid design requirements through needs and demands, aims to discuss the collected data from different perspectives of medical experts, medical store owners and crutch users to create design criteria.

    Exploring Adoption of Smart Glasses: Applications in Medical Industry

    This research is a study exploring the utilization of smart glasses by physicians and their adoption to these products in medical industry. Although varied smart glasses were examined in the process by literature review, in whole work M100 was used as a physical product. In this research study, three research methods were applied. These are semi-structured in-depth interview, expert focus group work and experimental study 95 constructs were extracted from literature review and interviews by physicians. Approximately 40 most significant constructs were selected by physicians in the expert focus group work. At the end, 75 physicians answered a survey related with these 40 constructs. Furthermore, these constructs include the most significant design inputs of smart glasses for the expert group. The survey included approximately 50 questions. According to survey and results of multiple regression analyses; it is revealed that compatibility, ease of reminding, speech recognition and ease of use affect usefulness positively. Moreover, ease of learning, ease of medical education, external influence and privacy affect ease of use positively too. In addition, usefulness, ease of use affect attitude and attitude affects intention. To sum up, designers should focus on these design inputs at the first stage of product development process of smart glasses for physicians.

    A Study on the Relationship Between Task, Information, and Individual Performance

    The goal of this study was to find an abstract model that would address the relationship between information and task and thus lead to better business performance. The relationships among information, task, and performance are analyzed in the natural environment against job-related beliefs and technology. The final instrument was applied to professionals mainly from the Finance and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sectors. Statistical analyses were used to quantify the relationships. The goal of the study was also to develop a model of task information fit (TIF). Results indicate that the tool has been successful and models the underlying structure between system characteristics, task characteristics, information characteristics, and their impact on perceived business success to some degree. A reduced TIF model was targeted to discover the relation between task characteristics, information characteristics, and their effect on business performance on a per-item basis. The correlations between the items supported the proposed relations.

    Exploring the Design Factors of Smart Glasses

    Advances in information technology (IT) have started to focus studies on human computer interaction (HCI) which is an area in computer science embracing cognitive science. In this approach there are various aspects of researches about HCI in order to explore how people design, implement, and use interactive computer systems and how computers affect individuals, organizations, and society. This study represents exploring the adoption factors of smart glasses. Technology adoption process establishes preferences and needs of people who use computers and smart systems. To address this issue, technology adoption is essential for a rapidly changing world where technology has become central to our lives. In that context, user interface (UI) which provides interaction between user and computer, plays significant role for technology adoption process. The purpose of the study is to examine the effects of smart glass design features; Stand-alone device, field of view, interaction, price, and display resolution on user preference through an experimental study by using conjoint analysis. In order to apply this study, an experimental study including a survey was designed. This survey also analyze social characteristics such as self-efficacy, anxiety, involvement, risk-task characteristics, enjoyment, usefulness, ease of use, attitude and intention for user smart glasses interaction.
