Angular Analysis of the Decay B+ → K+μ+μ- in Proton-Proton Collisions at √s=8 TeV
    (Amer Physical Soc, 2018) Sirunyan, A. M.; Tumasyan, A.; Adam, W.; Ambrogi, F.; Asilar, E.; Bergauer, T.; Woods, N.
The angular distribution of the flavor-changing neutral current decay B+ -> K+mu(+)mu(-) is studied in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV. The analysis is based on data collected with the CMS detector at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.5 fb(-1). The forward-backward asymmetry A(FB) of the dimuon system and the contribution F-H from the pseudoscalar, scalar, and tensor amplitudes to the decay width are measured as a function of the dimuon mass squared. The measurements are consistent with the standard model expectations.

Search for Supersymmetry in pp Collisions at √s=13 TeV in the Single-Lepton Final State Using the Sum of Masses of Large-Radius Jets
    (Amer Physical Soc, 2017) Sirunyan, A. M.; Tumasyan, A.; Adam, W.; Ambrogi, F.; Asilar, E.; Bergauer, T.; Woods, N.
Results are reported from a search for supersymmetric particles in proton-proton collisions in the final state with a single lepton, multiple jets, including at least one b-tagged jet, and large missing transverse momentum. The search uses a sample of proton-proton collision data at root s = 13 TeV recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb(-1). The observed event yields in the signal regions are consistent with those expected from standard model backgrounds. The results are interpreted in the context of simplified models of supersymmetry involving gluino pair production, with gluino decay into either on- or off-mass-shell top squarks. Assuming that the top squarks decay into a top quark plus a stable, weakly interacting neutralino, scenarios with gluino masses up to about 1.9 TeV are excluded at 95% confidence level for neutralino masses up to about 1 TeV.

In Fig. 3, the y axis titles were mistakenly written showing a single-differential cross section in either dimuon (Formula presented.) or rapidity, when in fact the cross section is normalized by both the (Formula presented.) and rapidity ranges used for a given measurement point. The corrected version is shown in the new Fig. 3 provided below. (Figure presented.) Differential cross section of prompt (Formula presented.) mesons (left) and (Formula presented.) mesons from b hadrons (nonprompt (Formula presented.) ) (right) decaying into two muons as a function of dimuon (Formula presented.) (upper) and rapidity (lower) in pp and (Formula presented.) collisions. The (Formula presented.) cross sections are normalised by (Formula presented.) for direct comparison. The bars (boxes) represent statistical (systematic) point-by-point uncertainties, while global uncertainties are written on the plots. © 2023, CERN for the benefit of the CMS Collaboration.

Measurements of the Higgs Boson Production and Decay Rates and Constraints on Its Couplings From a Combined Atlas and CMS Analysis of the LHC pp Collision Data at √s=7 and 8 TeV
    (Springer, 2016) Aad, G.; Abbott, B.; Abdallah, J.; Abdinov, O.; Abeloos, B.; Aben, R.; Woods, N.
Combined ATLAS and CMS measurements of the Higgs boson production and decay rates, as well as constraints on its couplings to vector bosons and fermions, are presented. The combination is based on the analysis of five production processes, namely gluon fusion, vector boson fusion, and associated production with a W or a Z boson or a pair of top quarks, and of the six decay modes H -> ZZ; WW, gamma gamma; tau tau; bb, and mu mu. All results are reported assuming a value of 125: 09 GeV for the Higgs boson mass, the result of the combined measurement by the ATLAS and CMS experiments. The analysis uses the CERN LHC proton-proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS and CMS experiments in 2011 and 2012, corresponding to integrated luminosities per experiment of approximately 5 fb(-1) at root s = 7TeV and 20 fb(-1) at root s = 8TeV. The Higgs boson production and decay rates measured by the two experiments are combined within the context of three generic parameterisations: two based on cross sections and branching fractions, and one on ratios of coupling modifiers. Several interpretations of the measurements with more model-dependent parameterisations are also given. The combined signal yield relative to the Standard Model prediction is measured to be 1.09 +/- 0.11. The combined measurements lead to observed significances for the vector boson fusion production process and for the H -> tau tau decay of 5.4 and 5.5 standard deviations, respectively. The data are consistent with the Standard Model predictions for all parameterisations considered.
