Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 1A Narrative of an Ideological Destruction: Where Do We Go Now?(University of Pittsburgh, 2023) Tunç Cox, Ayça; Aygün, GamzenurLebanese filmmaker, actress, and screenwriter Nadine Labaki’s 2011 film Where Do We Go Now? is about the ideological manipulation that gradually results in a big conflict among people in a rural Middle Eastern village where Muslims and Christians live in a peaceful existence. Labaki is known for her politically engaged narratives which refer to the recent political past of Lebanese whilst centralizing strong female figures. Where Do We Go Now? is no exception, and thus, reflects the director's general cinematic style and political attitude. Labaki invites her audience through the comedy to question ideology which interpellates and thus constructs the individual as a subject by revealing the ways ideology creates differences, separation, and conflict among people. In this context, this article strives to analyze the film Where Do We Go Now? employing critical discourse analysis with references to Althusser's conceptualization of ideology and Subject-subject formation. © 2023, University Library System, University of Pittsburgh. Portable ramps should allow for modifications in terms of weight, length, load bearing capacity, ease of handling, storage and further design parameters. Different types of portable ramps can be found in the market; however, their modifications cannot go beyond just length modification, or they allow to select just some restricted width options. However, portable ramps are quite suitable for mass customization concept which helps to satisfy customer while being involved in design step. This study aims to determine the wheelchair users' expectations and correspondingly to offer a smart mass customization design tool which potential users are able to interact with easily. To this end, a case study is conducted with a rollable ramp which is designed and developed within the scope of 1512 - Entrepreneurship Multi-phase Programme (Teknogirisim Sermaye Destegi Programi) of The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TuBITAK). The methodology and its implementation are described elaborately, and example of a parametric smart customization tool design are illustrated in this study. First, the preliminary study is explained briefly. Afterward, the desired modification parameters are determined with literature and patent survey as well as observation and interviews with the potential users. A theoretical research model is developed based on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology. A web-based survey has been used to gather data from randomly selected Smartphone users in Saudi Arabia. For data analysis, SEM approach was followed, SPSS and AMOS were utilized for analyzing data. The results indicate that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, brand influence, perceived enjoyment, and design constructs have a positive and significant relationship with users' behavioral intention to adopt and use Smartphones in Saudi Arabia. © 2020 World Scientific Publishing Company.
