Precise estrus period determination is essential to avoid economic losses, such as milk production reductions, delayed calf births, and disqualification from government support. The proposed method integrates estrus period detection with cow identification using augmented reality (AR). It initiates deep learning-based mounting detection, followed by identifying the mounting region of interest (ROI) using YOLOv5. The ROI is then cropped with padding, and cow ID detection is executed using YOLOv5 on the cropped ROI. The system subsequently records the identified cow IDs. The proposed system accurately detects mounting behavior with 99% accuracy, identifies the ROI where mounting occurs with 98% accuracy, and detects the mounting couple with 94% accuracy. The high success of all operations with the proposed system demonstrates its potential contribution to AR and artificial intelligence applications in livestock farming. © 2023 by the authors.Article Citation - WoS: 7Citation - Scopus: 9Politics of Waiting for Transformation in Protracted Urban Renewal Projects in Turkey(Sage Publications Ltd, 2023) Ay, Deniz; Penpecioglu, MehmetThis paper explores the politics of 'waiting' as a mode of governance in large-scale urban redevelopment projects. In designated renewal areas, residents/landowners are often subject to several episodes of waiting: waiting for the public authority for information on redevelopment visions; waiting for the plans and projects to become public; waiting for the court ruling if they appeal the plans; waiting for demolition upon plan approvals; and, finally, waiting for the constructions to be completed. Given the complexity of actors and institutions involved in the waiting, it becomes a conflictual political process. This prolonged waiting leads to an ongoing temporariness and precarious spaces of urban renewal. The course of waiting affects the reorganization of the city space now and in the future. We analyze two protracted urban renewal projects from Turkey, Fikirtepe in Istanbul and Karabaglar in Izmir, to explore how residents' decade-long waiting for urban change are shaped and how these diverse waiting experiences lead to different outcomes for the progression of the state-imposed urban renewal agendas. While Karabaglar residents have unified around active bottom-up resistance from the beginning to challenge the project-based plans the central government imposed, Fikirtepe residents pursued individual-level negotiations with developers to maximize private returns following the zoning incentives the public authority gave. Intracellularly degradable and stabilized micelles are prepared by core cross-linking via reversible addition−fragmentation chain-transfer (RAFT) polymerization with an acid-sensitive cross-linker followed by the conjugation of maleimide–doxorubicin to the pyridyl disulfide-modified micelles. Multifunctional nanocarriers are obtained by coupling HER2-specific peptide. Formation of micelles, addition of peptide and doxorubicin (DOX) are confirmed structurally by spectroscopical techniques. Size and morphological characterization are performed by Zetasizer and transmission electron microscope (TEM). For the physicochemical verification of the synergistic acid-triggered degradation induced by acetal and hydrazone bond degradation, Infrared spectroscopy and particle size measurements are used. Drug release studies show that DOX release is accelerated at acidic pH. DOX-conjugated HER2-specific peptide-carrying nanocarriers significantly enhance cytotoxicity toward SKBR-3 cells. More importantly, no selectivity toward MCF-10A cells is observed compared to HER2(+) SKBR-3 cells. Formulations cause apoptosis depending on Bax and Caspase-3 and cell cycle arrest in G2 phase. Based on the Fundamental Test Theory of Goodenough and Gerhart (IEEE Trans Softw Eng SE-1(2):156–173, 1975), this paper proposes an approach to model-based ideal testing of hardware description language (HDL) programs based on their behavioral model. Test sequences are generated from both original (fault-free) and mutant (faulty) models in the sense of positive and negative testing, forming a holistic test view. These test sequences are then executed on original (fault-free) and mutant (faulty) HDL programs, in the sense of mutation testing. Using the techniques known from automata theory, test selection criteria are developed and formally show that they fulfill the major requirements of Fundamental Test Theory, that is, reliability and validity. The current paper comprises a preparation step (consisting of the sub-steps model construction, model mutation, model conversion, and test generation) and a composition step (consisting of the sub-steps pre-selection and construction of Ideal test suites). All the steps are supported by a toolchain that is already implemented and is available online. To critically validate the proposed approach, three case studies (a sequence detector, a traffic light controller, and a RISC-V processor) are used and the strengths and weaknesses of the approach are discussed. It was aimed to determine individual and total fatty acid alkyl esters and waxes as minor constituents of olive oil and to investigate their novel varietal authentication capability separately and in combination for three main olive cultivars grown in three distinct locations of Aegean Region of Turkey. In addition, basic quality and purity parameters as free fatty acid, K values and fatty acid profiles were also determined for the characterization of the samples. Olive oil samples from different cultivars had different fatty acid profiles and two of these varieties had similar quality parameters. Statistical analyses were conducted with orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) to differentiate varieties with respect to their individual and combined parameters of fatty acid alkyl esters and waxes. For calibration sets, use of individual fatty acid alkyl esters profile resulted in 80% correct classification rate while waxes alone was 67% successful in classifying the olive oils according to variety. It was found that alkyl esters in combination with waxes were more effective in discrimination of olive oils with respect to cultivar compared to their individual forms and the correct classification rate for the generated model is 92% for calibration set. This facile procedure is based on single-step carbonization treatment at a temperature range of 400–800 °C. Different carbonization time (15–360 min), impregnation ratio (1–3 g/g), impregnation time (3–24 h), and nitrogen flow rate (300 and 600 ml/min) were examined. The chemical and physical properties of the activated carbon examined by SEM-EDX, FT-IR analysis, particle size distribution, iodine number, pHzpc, BET surface area, and surface functional group analysis by Boehm’s titration. The results illustrate that the values of BET surface area, total pore volume, average pore diameter, iodine number, pHzpc, and carbon content of activated carbon were found as 1290.5 m2/g, 0.5667 cm3/g, 21.2 Å, 1258.4 mg/g, 5.7, and 86.89%, respectively. Evaluating the soft error vulnerability of GPGPU programs and employing efficient fault tolerance techniques for more reliable execution become more important. Protecting only the most error-sensitive program regions maintains an acceptable reliability level by eliminating the large performance overheads due to redundant operations. Therefore, fine-grained regional soft error vulnerability analysis is crucial for the systems targeting both performance and reliability. In this work, we present a regional fault injection framework and perform a detailed error propagation analysis to evaluate the soft error vulnerability of GPGPU applications. We evaluate both intra-kernel and inter-kernel vulnerabilities for a set of programs and quantify the severity of the data corruptions by considering metrics other than SDC rates. Our experimental study demonstrates that the code regions inside GPGPU programs exhibit different characteristics in terms of soft error vulnerability and the soft errors corrupting the variables propagate into the program output in several ways. These disease forms are associated with parasite species of the protozoan genus Leishmania. For instance, Leishmania infantum and Leishmania tropica are typically linked with visceral (VL) and cutaneous (CL) leishmaniasis, respectively; however, these two species can also cause other form to a lesser extent. What is more alarming is this characteristic, which threatens current medical diagnosis and treatment, is started to be acquired by other species. Our purpose was to address this issue; therefore, gel-based and gel-free proteomic analyses were carried out on the species L. infantum to determine the proteins differentiating between the parasites caused VL and CL. In addition, L. tropica parasites representing the typical cases for CL were included. According to our results, electrophoresis gels of parasites caused to VL were distinguishable regarding the repetitive down-regulation on some specific locations. In addition, a distinct spot of an antioxidant enzyme, superoxide dismutase, was shown up only on the gels of CL samples regardless of the species. In the gel-free approach, 37 proteins that were verified with a second database search using a different search engine, were recognized from the comparison between VL and CL samples. Among them, 31 proteins for the CL group and six proteins for the VL group were determined differentially abundant. Two proteins from the gel-based analysis, pyruvate kinase and succinyl-coA:3-ketoacid-coenzyme A transferase analysis were encountered in the protein list of the CL group.
