Article Citation - WoS: 6Citation - Scopus: 6Polar Solvent-Free Room Temperature Synthesis of Cspbx3 (x = Br, Cl) Perovskite Nanocubes(Royal Society of Chemistry, 2023) Güvenç, Çetin Meriç; Kocabaş, Aşkın; Balcı, SinanConventionally, colloidal lead halide perovskite nanocubes have been synthesized by the hot-injection or ligand-assisted reprecipitation (LARP) methods. We herein demonstrate a polar solvent-free room temperature method for the synthesis of CsPbX3 (X = Br, Cl) nanocubes. In addition to the commonly used ligand pair of oleylamine and oleic acid, guanidinium (GA) has been used to passivate the surface of the nanocrystals. Our study demonstrates that GA inhibits the formation of low dimensional structures such as nanowires and nanoplatelets and further supports the formation of perovskite nanocubes. In fact, GA diminishes the restricted monomer-addition effect of long-chain oleylammonium (OLAM) ions to the nanocrystal. We show that above a critical GA/OLAM molar ratio, the synthesis yields homogeneous CsPbX3 (X = Br, Cl) nanocubes. Importantly, we observe the nucleation and growth kinetics of the GA-assisted CsPbBr3 nanocube formation by using in situ absorption and photoluminescence (PL) measurements. Small nanocrystals with an excitonic absorption peak at around 435 nm and photoluminescence (PL) maxima at 447 nm were nucleated and continuously shifted to longer wavelengths during the growth period. Crucially, our method allows the synthesis of CsPbCl3 nanocubes at room temperature without using polar organic solvents. The synthesized CsPbBr3, CsPb(Cl0.5Br0.5)3, and CsPbCl3 nanocubes have PL peaks at 508 nm, 443 nm, and 405 nm, photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQY) of 85%, 58% and 5%, and lifetimes of 18.98 ns, 18.97 ns, and 14.74 ns, respectively.Article Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 2Origin of a Localized Vibrational Mode in a Gasb Substrate With a Mbe-Grown Znte Epilayer(IOP Publishing Ltd., 2006) Kim, Hyunjung; Tarhan, Enver; Chen, G.; Ramdas, A. K.; Sciacca, M. D.; Gunshor, R. L.A localized vibrational mode (LVM) with a remarkable fine structure is observed in the infrared transmission spectrum of a ZnTe epilayer grown with molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) on a GaSb substrate. On the basis of the Zn and Te deposited on the GaSb substrate during the MBE growth of ZnTe, and assuming diffusion of Zn and Te into GaSb, the LVM is attributed to Zn, substitutionally replacing either the cation, Ga (ZnGa), or the anion, Sb (Zn Sb). The frequency of the LVM and its fine structure can then be interpreted in terms of the infrared active modes of 64Zn substituting for Sb as an anti-site impurity and treating the centre as an XY4 quasimolecule. With X≡64Zn and Y≡ 69Ga and 71Ga, occupying the nearest-neighbour sites reflecting all the possible combinations and permutations as well as the natural isotopic abundance of Ga, the fine structure of the LVM can be accounted for quantitatively.Article Citation - WoS: 3Citation - Scopus: 4Strain Gauges of Gasb-Fega1.3 Eutectic Composites(Springer Verlag, 2004) Aliyev, M.I.; Khalilova, A. A.; Arasly, D. H.; Rahimov, R. N.; Tanoğlu, Metin; Özyüzer, LütfiA needle-shaped metallic FeGa1.3 phase oriented in a specific direction and uniformly distributed within a GaSb matrix was grown by a vertical Bridgman method. Strain-gauge characteristics, such as strain-sensitivity coefficient (S), temperature coefficient of strain sensitivity (TCS) and temperature coefficient of resistance, of GaSb and GaSb-FeGa1.3 eutectic alloy have been investigated in the range of 200 to 400 K under deformation up to strains of 1.3 × 10-3. The value of S of the GaSb-FeGa1.3 composition is measured to be 40 ± 5 and its TCS is about 0.2% deg-1 when the current is perpendicular to the needles and the needles are parallel to the plane of the gauge substrate. The strain-sensitivity characteristics are linear and hysteresis free in the investigated temperature range in the aforementioned direction. It was found that GaSb-FeGa1.3-based strain gauges possess better deformation characteristics than GaSb-based gauges.
