Article Citation - WoS: 3Citation - Scopus: 3Dual Kasch rings(World Scientific Publishing, 2023) Lomp, Christian; Büyükaşık, Engin; Yurtsever, Haydar BaranIt is well known that a ring R is right Kasch if each simple right R-module embeds in a projective right R-module. In this paper we study the dual notion and call a ring R right dual Kasch if each simple right R-module is a homomorphic image of an injective right R-module. We prove that R is right dual Kasch if and only if every finitely generated projective right R-module is coclosed in its injective hull. Typical examples of dual Kasch rings are self-injective rings, V-rings and commutative perfect rings. Skew group rings of dual Kasch rings by finite groups are dual Kasch if the order of the group is invertible. Many examples are given to separate the notion of Kasch and dual Kasch rings. It is shown that commutative Kasch rings are dual Kasch, and a commutative ring with finite Goldie dimension is dual Kasch if and only if it is a classical ring (i.e. every element is a zero divisor or invertible). We obtain that, for a field k, a finite dimensional k-algebra is right dual Kasch if and only if it is left Kasch. We also discuss the rings over which every simple right module is a homomorphic image of its injective hull, and these rings are termed strongly dual Kasch.Article On Classification of Sequences Containing Arbitrarily Long Arithmetic Progressions(World Scientific Publishing, 2023) Cam Çelik, Şermin; Eyidoğan, Sadık; Göral, Haydar; Sertbaş, Doğa CanIn this paper, we study the classification of sequences containing arbitrarily long arithmetic progressions. First, we deal with the question how the polynomial map n(s) can be extended so that it contains arbitrarily long arithmetic progressions. Under some growth conditions, we construct sequences which contain arbitrarily long arithmetic progressions. Also, we give a uniform and explicit arithmetic progression rank bound for a large class of sequences. Consequently, a dichotomy result is deduced on the finiteness of the arithmetic progression rank of certain sequences. Therefore, in this paper, we see a way to determine the finiteness of the arithmetic progression rank of various sequences satisfying some growth conditions.Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 1Irreducibility and Primality in Differentiability Classes(Michigan State University Press, 2023) Batal, Ahmet; Eyidoğan, S.; Göral, HaydarIn this note, we give criteria for the irreducibility of functions in Cm [0, 1], where m ∈ {1, 2, 3, ...} ∪ {∞} ∪ {ω}. We also discuss irreducibility in multivariable differentiability classes. Moreover, we characterize irreducible functions and maximal ideals in C∞ [0, 1]. In fact, irreducible and prime smooth functions are the same, and every maximal ideal of C∞ [0, 1] is principal. © 2023 Michigan State University Press. We introduce a planar version of the parity bracket polynomial for planar knotoids. We show that the virtual closure map (a map from the set of knotoids in S-2 to the set of virtual knots of genus at most one) is not surjective, by utilizing the surface bracket polynomial of virtual knots. We give specific examples of virtual knots that are not in the image of the virtual closure map. Turaev conjectured that minimal diagrams of knot-type knotoids have zero height. We prove this conjecture by using the results of Nikonov and Manturov induced by parities of virtual knots.Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 1Fatigue Life Prediction and Optimization of Gfrp Composites Based on Failure Tensor Polynomial in Fatigue Model With Exponential Fitting Approach(SAGE Publications, 2022) Güneş, Mehmet Deniz; İmamoğlu Karabaş, Neslişah; Deveci, Hamza Arda; Tanoğlu, Gamze; Tanoğlu, MetinIn this study, a new fatigue life prediction and optimization strategy utilizing the Failure Tensor Polynomial in Fatigue (FTPF) model with exponential fitting and numerical bisection method for fiber reinforced polymer composites has been proposed. Within the experimental stage, glass/epoxy composite laminates with (Formula presented.), (Formula presented.), and (Formula presented.) lay-up configurations were fabricated, quasi-static and fatigue mechanical behavior of GFRP composites was characterized to be used in the FTPF model. The prediction capability of the FTPF model was tested based on the experimental data obtained for multidirectional laminates of various composite materials. Fatigue life prediction results of the glass/epoxy laminates were found to be better as compared to those for the linear fitting predictions. The results also indicated that the approach with exponential fitting provides better fatigue life predictions as compared to those obtained by linear fitting, especially for glass/epoxy laminates. Moreover, an optimization study using the proposed methodology for fatigue life advancement of the glass/epoxy laminates was performed by a powerful hybrid algorithm, PSA/GPSA. So, two optimization scenarios including various loading configurations were considered. The optimization results exhibited that the optimized stacking sequences having maximized fatigue life can be obtained in various loading cases. It was also revealed that the tension-compression loading and the loadings involving shear loads are critical for fatigue, and further improvement in fatigue life may be achieved by designing only symmetric lay-ups instead of symmetric-balanced and diversification of fiber angles to be used in the optimization.Article Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 3Biquandle Brackets and Knotoids(World Scientific Publishing, 2021) Güğümcü, Neslihan; Nelson, Sam; Oyamaguchi, NatsumiBiquandle brackets are a type of quantum enhancement of the biquandle counting invariant for oriented knots and links, defined by a set of skein relations with coefficients which are functions of biquandle colors at a crossing. In this paper, we use biquandle brackets to enhance the biquandle counting matrix invariant defined by the first two authors in (N. Gügümcü and S. Nelson, Biquandle coloring invariants of knotoids, J. Knot Theory Ramif. 28(4) (2019) 1950029). We provide examples to illustrate the method of calculation and to show that the new invariants are stronger than the previous ones. As an application we show that the trace of the biquandle bracket matrix is an invariant of the virtual closure of a knotoid.Article Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 2An Inverse Parameter Problem With Generalized Impedance Boundary Condition for Two-Dimensional Linear Viscoelasticity(Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics Publications, 2021) Ivanyshyn Yaman, Olha; Le Louer, FrederiqueWe analyze an inverse boundary value problem in two-dimensional viscoelastic media with a generalized impedance boundary condition on the inclusion via boundary integral equation methods. The model problem is derived from a recent asymptotic analysis of a thin elastic coating as the thickness tends to zero [F. Caubet, D. Kateb, and F. Le Louer, J. Elasticity, 136 (2019), pp. 17-53]. The boundary condition involves a new second order surface symmetric operator with mixed regularity properties on tangential and normal components. The well-posedness of the direct problem is established for a wide range of constant viscoelastic parameters and impedance functions. Extending previous research in the Helmholtz case, the unique identification of the impedance parameters from measured data produced by the scattering of three independent incident plane waves is established. The theoretical results are illustrated by numerical experiments generated by an inverse algorithm that simultaneously recovers the impedance parameters and the density solution to the equivalent boundary integral equation reformulation of the direct problem.Conference Object Can Cpt Be Violated Through Extended Time Reversal?(World Scientific Publishing, 2001) Erdem, Recai; Ufuktepe, ÜnalWe consider the implications of the extension of time reversal through Wigner types and group extensions. We clarify its physical content and apply the results in a toy model. Finally we point out the possibility of violation of CPT in this framework.Conference Object Holomorphic Realization of Non-Commutative Space-Time and Gauge Invariance(IOP Publishing, 2003) Mir-Kasimov, Rufat M.The realization of the Poincare Lie algebra in terms of noncommutative differential calculus over the commutative algebra of functions is considered. The algebra of functions is defined on the spectrum of the unitary irreducible representations of the De Sitter group. Corresponding space-time carries the noncommutative geometry. Gauge invariance principle consistent with this noncommutative space is considered.Conference Object Partial Differential Equations With Webmathematica(Imperial College Press, 2003) Ufuktepe, ÜnalThe growing popularity of the internet, and the increasing number of computers connected to it, make it an ideal framework for remote education. Many disciplines are rethinking their traditional philosophies and techniques to adapt to the new technologies. Web-based education is an effective framework for such learning, which simplifies theory understanding, encourages learning by discovery and experimentation and undoubtedly makes the learning process more pleasant. There is a need for adequate tools to help in the elaboration of courses that might make it possible to express all the possibilities offered by www teaching. webMathematica is a web-based technology developed by Wolfram Research that allows the generation of dynamic web content with Mathematica. With this technology, distance education students should be able to explore and experiment with mathematical concepts. In this paper we present a sample lecture for Partial Differential Equations in webMathematica for the distance learning environment.
