Article Citation - WoS: 9Citation - Scopus: 8A Numerical Method Based on Legendre Wavelet and Quasilinearization Technique for Fractional Lane-Emden Type Equations(Springer, 2024) İdiz, F.; Tanoǧlu, G.; Aghazadeh, N.In this research, we study the numerical solution of fractional Lane-Emden type equations, which emerge mainly in astrophysics applications. We propose a numerical approach making use of Legendre wavelets and the quasilinearization technique. The nonlinear term in fractional Lane-Emden type equations is iteratively linearized using the quasilinearization technique. The linearized equations are then solved using the Legendre wavelet collocation method. The proposed method is quite effective to overcome the singularity in fractional Lane-Emden type equations. Convergence and error analysis of the proposed method are given. We solve some test problems to compare the effectiveness of the proposed method with some other numerical methods in the literature. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.Article Citation - WoS: 5Citation - Scopus: 6Lung Parenchyma Segmentation From Ct Images With a Fully Automatic Method(Springer, 2023) Mousavi Moghaddam, Reza; Aghazadeh, NasserFor the last three years, the world has been facing an infectious disease that primarily affects the human breathing organ. The disease has caused many deaths worldwide so far and has imposed high economic costs on all countries. Therefore, attention to computer-aided detection/diagnosis (CAD) systems to help diagnose and treat diseases related to the human respiratory system should be given more attention so that countries’ health systems can treat patients in epidemics. Considering the importance of CAD systems, we proposed a two-step automatic algorithm. In the first step, we obtain the primary boundary of the lobes in CT lung scan images with the help of some conventional image processing tools. In the second stage, we obtained a more precise boundary of the lung lobes by correcting the unusual dimples and valleys (which are sometimes caused by the presence of juxtapleural nodules). This proposed method has low implementation time. Given that a precise boundary of the pulmonary lobes is essential in the more accurate diagnosis of lung-related diseases, an attempt has been made to ensure that the final segmentation of the lung parenchyma has an acceptable score in terms of evaluation criteria so that the proposed algorithm can be used in the diagnosis procedure. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.Article Citation - WoS: 9Citation - Scopus: 8A Numerical Method Based on Legendre Wavelet and Quasilinearization Technique for Fractional Lane-Emden Type Equations(Springer, 2023) İdiz, Fatih; Tanoğlu, Gamze; Aghazadeh, NasserIn this research, we study the numerical solution of fractional Lane-Emden type equations, which emerge mainly in astrophysics applications. For two qubit states a relation between reduced density matrix and the concurrence allows us to characterize entanglement by double area of a parallelogram, expressed by determinant of the complex Hermitian inner product metric. We find similar relation in the case of generic two-qutrit state, where the concurrence is expressed by sum of all 2 × 2 minors of 3 × 3 complex matrix. We show that for maximally entangled two-retrit state this relation is just De Gua’s theorem or a three-dimensional analog of the Pythagorean theorem for triorthogonal tetrahedron areas. Generalizations of our results for arbitrary two-qudit states are discussed © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.Conference Object Hirota Bilinear Method and Relativistic Dissipative Soliton Solutions in Nonlinear Spinor Equations(Springer, 2023) Pashaev, OktayA new relativistic integrable nonlinear model for real, Majorana type spinor fields in 1+1 dimensions, gauge equivalent to Papanicolau spin model, defined on the one sheet hyperboloid is introduced. By using the double numbers, the model is represented as hyperbolic complex valued relativistic massive Thirring type model. By Hirota’s bilinear method, an exact one and two dissipative soliton solutions of this model are constructed. Calculation of first three integrals of motion for one dissipation solution shows that the last one represents a particle-like nonlinear excitation, with relativistic dispersion and highly nonlinear mass. A nontrivial solution of the system of algebraic equations, showing fusion and fission of relativistic dissipations is found. Asymptotic analysis of exact two dissipaton solution confirms resonant character of our dissipaton interactions. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.Article Citation - WoS: 9Citation - Scopus: 8Taylor Wavelets Collocation Technique for Solving Fractional Nonlinear Singular Pdes(Springer, 2022) Aghazadeh, Nasser; Mohammadi, Amir; Tanoğlu, GamzeA novel technique has been introduced to solve the Emden-Fowler equations. It has been derived from the Taylor wavelets collocation method. The proposed scheme has been successfully implemented in order to solve the singular equations. The singular problem converts to a system of algebraic equations that can be solved numerically. Moreover, the technique is very effective to remove the strong singularity point at x = 0. The numerical experiments have been checked out with the exact and approximate solutions that have been achieved by others including the Adomian decomposition method (Wazwaz in Appl Math Comput 166:638-651, 2005), Modified Homotopy Perturbation Method (Singh et al. J Math Chem 54(4):918-931, 2016). Also, the error analysis of the technique has been considered.Article A Reliable and Fast Mesh-Free Solver for the Telegraph Equation(Springer, 2022) İmamoğlu Karabaş, Neslişah; Korkut, Sıla Övgü; Gürarslan, Gürhan; Tanoğlu, GamzeIn the presented study, the hyperbolic telegraph equation is taken as the focus point. To solve such an equation, an accurate, reliable, and efficient method has been proposed. The developed method is mainly based on the combination of a kind of mesh-free method and an adaptive method. Multiquadric radial basis function mesh-free method is considered on spatial domain and the adaptive fifth-order Runge–Kutta method is used on time domain. The validity and the performance of the proposed method have been checked on several test problems. The approximate solutions are compared with the exact solution, it is shown that the proposed method has more preferable to the other methods in the literature.Conference Object Citation - Scopus: 1Pq-Calculus of Fibonacci Divisors and Method of Images in Planar Hydrodynamics(Springer, 2022) Pashaev, OktayBy introducing the hierarchy of Fibonacci divisors and corresponding quantum derivatives, we develop the golden calculus, hierarchy of golden binomials and related exponential functions, translation operator and infinite hierarchy of Golden analytic functions. The hierarchy of Golden periodic functions, appearing in this calculus we relate with the method of images in planar hydrodynamics for incompressible and irrotational flow in bounded domain. We show that the even hierarchy of these functions determines the flow in the annular domain, bounded by concentric circles with the ratio of radiuses in powers of the Golden ratio. As an example, complex potential and velocity field for the set of point vortices with Golden proportion of images are calculated explicitly.Article Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 3Integral Characteristics by Keyspace Partitioning(Springer, 2022) Demirbaş, Fatih; Kara, OrhunIn this work, we introduce a new method we call integral by keyspace partitioning to construct integral characteristics for some block ciphers by introducing new integral properties. We introduce the concepts of active with constant difference and identically active integral properties. Then, we divide the key space into equivalence classes and construct integral characteristics for each equivalence class individually by using these integral properties. We exploit the binary diffusion layer and key schedule algorithm of a block cipher to propagate these integral properties through rounds. We apply the new method to the Byte-oriented Substitution-Permutation Network (BSPN) cipher and Midori64 to show its effectiveness. We construct the first iterative integral characteristic for a block cipher to the best of our knowledge. We extend this iterative characteristic for the (M, n)-(BSPN) block cipher where each block of BSPN contains M number of n× n S-Boxes with the block and key sizes M· n. Using at most (M-12)+1 (only 106 when M= 16) chosen plaintexts, we mount key recovery attacks for the first time on BSPN and recover the key for the full round. The time complexity of the key recovery is almost independent of the number of rounds. We also use our method to construct an integral characteristic for Midori64, which can be utilized for a key recovery attack on 11-round Midori64. Our results impose a new security criteria for the design of the key schedule algorithm for some block ciphers.Article Citation - WoS: 3Citation - Scopus: 3A Direct Method for the Low Energy Scattering Solution of Delta Shell Potentials(Springer, 2022) Erman, Fatih; Seymen, SemaA direct method for the bound states and the low energy scattering from a circular and a spherical delta shell potentials is proposed, and the results are compared with the one using the standard partial wave analysis developed for potentials with rotational symmetry. The formulation is presented in momentum space, and the scattering solutions are obtained by considering the elementary use of distributions. In this approach, the outgoing boundary conditions are imposed explicitly in contrast to the iϵ prescription often used in quantum mechanics.
