(2019) Saatci, Selcuk; Yasayanlar, Suleyman; Yasayanlar, Yonca; Batarlar, Baturay
Sunulan çalışmada her iki yönde birbirine dik 0,004 (D1 serisi) ve 0,002 (D2 serisi) oranında boyuna donatıiçeren 2150x2150x150 mm boyutlarında iki grup betonarme döşeme, hacimce %0, %0,5, %1 ve %1,5oranında çelik fiber katkısı içeren beton karışımlarıyla dökülmüştür. Üretilen toplam sekiz döşeme ortanoktalarından statik yük altında test edilmişlerdir. Çelik fiber katkısı olmayan numunelerde yüksek boyunadonatı oranına sahip döşeme boyuna donatısında akma gerçekleşmeden gevrek bir şekilde zımbalamagöçmesi oluşurken düşük boyuna donatı oranına sahip döşeme zımbalama gerçekleşmeden önce çok dahasünek bir davranış göstermiştir. Çelik fiber katkısı her iki boyuna donatı oranında da iki kata varan oranlardazımbalama dayanımı artışlarına sebep olmuştur. Ancak D1 serisi döşemelerde çelik fiber katkısı maksimumyer değiştirmeleri önemli ölçüde arttırırken D2 serisinde maksimum yer değiştirmelerde önemli bir farkoluşmamış, bu döşemelerin yer değiştirmesi boyuna donatının akması tarafından kontrol edilmiştir. Çelikfiber katkısı oranının arttırılması D1 serisi döşemelerde dayanımın ve maksimum yer değiştirmelerinartmasına sebep olurken, D2 serisi döşemelerde %1'in üstü çelik fiber katkı oranları davranışta önemli birfark oluşturmamıştır.

Nowadays, the data revealed by the online individuals are increasing exponentially. The raw information that increasing data holds, transformed into meaningful outputs using machine learning and deep learning methods. Generally, supervised learning methods are used for information extraction and classification. Supervised learning is based on the training set that classification algorithms are trained. In the proposed approach, keyword extraction solution is proposed to classify text data more convenient. The developed solution is based on the Word2Vec algorithm, which works by taking into consideration the semantic meaning of the words unlike general approaches that based on word frequency. A new approach, word embedding algorithm named Word2Vec, works by calculating the word weights, semantic relationship, and the final weights of vectors. The obtained keywords are trained with Name Bayes and Decision Trees methods and the performance of the proposed method is shown by classification example.

Evaluation of Malassezia Species by Fourier Transform Infrared (ft-Ir) Spectroscopy
(Ankara Microbiology Society, 2011) Ergin, Çağrı; Vuran, M. Emre; Gök, Yaşar; Özdemir, Durmuş; Karaarslan, Aydın; Kaleli, İlnur; Çon, Ahmet Hilmi
Malassezia species which are lipophilic exobasidiomycetes fungi, have been accepted as members of normal cutaneous flora as well as causative agent of certain skin diseases. In routine microbiology laboratory, species identification based on phenotypic characters may not yield identical results with taxonomic studies. Lipophilic and lipid-dependent Malassezia yeasts require lipid-enriched complex media. For this reason, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy analysis focused on lipid window may be useful for identification of Malassezia species. In this study, 10 different standard Malassezia species (M.dermatis CBS 9145, M.furfur CBS 7019, M.japonica CBS 9432, M.globosa CBS 7966, M.nana CBS 9561, M.obtusa CBS 7876, M.pachydermatis CBS 1879, M.slooffiae CBS 7956, M.sympodialis CBS 7222 and M.yamatoensis CBS 9725) which are human pathogens, have been analyzed by FT-IR spectroscopy following standard cultivation onto modified Dixon agar medium. Results showed that two main groups (M1; M.globosa, Robtusa, M.sympodialis, M.dermatis, M.pachydermatis vs, M2; M.furfur, M.japonica, M.nana, M.slooffiae, M.yamatoensis) were discriminated by whole spectra analysis. M.obtusa in M1 by 1686-1606 cm(-1) wavenumber ranges and M.japonicum in M2 by 2993-2812 cm(-1) wavenumber ranges were identified with low level discrimination power. Discriminatory areas for species differentiation of M1 members as M.sympodialis, M.globosa and M.pachydermatis and M2 members as M.furfur and M.yamatoensis could not be identified. Several spectral windows analysis results revealed that FT-IR spectroscopy was not sufficient for species identification of culture grown Malassezia species.

Influence of Drying Temperature on Total Phenolic Content and Antioxidant Capacity of Grape Seeds
(Pamukkale Üniversitesi, 2015) Konuk, Dilara; Korel, Figen
Grape seed, which is an organic waste arise from production of wine, juice and molasses, is considered as a functional food ingredient in food formulations because of its rich content of bioactive compounds. This study was performed in order to evaluate the effect of air-drying temperature on the bioactive compounds of grape seeds. In the study, total phenolic content and antioxidant activity of grape seeds that are dehydrated at different drying temperatures (40, 50 and 60 degrees C) were determined. When comparing the fresh grape seeds with the corresponding dehydrated samples, it was shown that the drying operation led to reduction of total phenolic contents and the total phenolic contents decreased with an increase of the drying temperature. According to ABTS radical scavenging method, Trolox Equivalent Antioxidant Capacity (TEAC) was found to be highest for fresh grape seeds and presented lower values for grape seeds dried at three different temperatures. As a result of the study, it was demonstrated that grape seed is a powerful antioxidant source and it has still high antioxidant activity after drying process. However, drying at low temperatures was put forward to be advantageous in order to reduce the losses of phenolic components.

İşlev değişikliğinin tarihi yapılar üzerine etkileri “Alsancak Levanten Evleri örneği”
(Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi, 2015) Gazi Gezgin, Aylin; Boduroğlu, Elvin
Social change brings with it new human needs and activities, and in every era humans create and recreate spaces, and hence structures, according to these needs and activities. This means that structures, and their parts, need to undergo change in terms of space and function to adapt to different functionalities and conditions. One understanding of preservation is based on the idea that with a change in function, historical structures which have outlived their original purpose are given new life and once again are made part of the urban landscape. Instances of functional change are most often seen in monumental and historical industrial structures, and in the examples of civil architecture remaining in areas set aside for housing settlements as a result of rapid urbanization. It is important, however, that any functional change made to a historical structure serves to protect the architectural value, meaning and memory of the structure. Alsancak is home to a large number of historical Levantine houses, many of which, following rapid urbanization in the 1970s, have had to change their function to that of bar or cafe. The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of the re-functioning on these houses in Alsancak, and to make some recommendations on both the processes involved in re-functioning, and on the current legal regulations governing these processes with a view to ameliorating the negative effects of re-functioning on such structures.

Modernity, Hygiene and Display of the Body
(Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi, 2016) Yılmaz, Ebru
This article focuses on health museums as a building type introduced to the architectural medium at the beginning of 20th century by modern thinking, the ideal of creating a healthy society as a guarantee of progress and development. Health museums provided representation for concepts of modernity and hygiene in a built environment by being spaces that displayed the human body and exhibits related to diseases, hygiene, and medical developments. A modest building in scale and content, the Izmir Health Exhibition building of the Izmir Fair was analyzed in this study to show how it contributed to 1920s and 1930s modern architecture in Turkey and what were the representational meanings of the messages transmitted. The existence of this building, constructed in 1937 in Izmir, should be understood in the context of health policies from all around the world, social engineering efforts, and the process of modernization. The building is an example of a use of modern architecture, but of a type that is waning in popularity in today's contemporary world. Looking back at this building today helps us understand the rising and declining value of modernity in the discourse of hygiene and its effect on the field of architecture. The contribution of the Izmir Health Exhibition building to early modern Turkish architecture is discussed with reference to similar exhibitions and museums around the world.

Research of Rural Architecture in Aegean Region: Villages of Bayindir
(Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi, 2017) Akyüz Levi, Eti; Taşcı, Burcu
Rural architecture and settlements occupy an important place in conservation discipline. In this study, the architectural pattern of Karahayit, Gaziler, and Kabaagac-the three villages affiliated to Zeytinova, Bayindir, Izmir-is examined and evaluated, and proposals regarding the future of the villages are made. The villages are documented through field surveys and literature reviews and are evaluated in a comparative study. This study is primarily based on the field surveys that determined in-situ conditions about villages. Villages are settlements that are isolated from the center and have limited transportation possibilities. Moreover, many people migrated to cities from the villages due to limitations of education and employment, resulting in the dilapidation of many of the houses as no one live in them. Settlement has taken form in agreement with the topography; the houses have inclined towards the valley and the scenery. Olive cultivation and cattle breeding are the main sources of living. The mosque and laundry buildings are among the important buildings. It is seen that various interventions were made in the houses during the usage. The physical sustainability of the houses must be ensured in integration with sustainable social, economic, and living conditions. The following measures seem appropriate: the houses should be adapted for current living conditions; a technical contribution should be made during the repair work; and the houses should be expropriated and utilized for touristic functions. The maintenance of villages should be evaluated in the context of rural development. Furthermore, production and marketing possibilities should be developed, and welfare activities should be increased. Finally, ecotourism as a means in rural development should be considered.

Mesnetlerinden Farklı Yer Hareketlerine Maruz Çok Katlı Çerçevelerin Deplasman Yüklemesine Göre Analizi
(Turkish Chamber of Civil Engineers, 2019) Hızal, Çağlayan; Turan, Gürsoy
In seismic analysis of structures, generally it is assumed that all supports are subjected to identical ground motions. This approach is assumed to be realistic when the foundation of the structure is formed as a rigid plate, but it cannot consider the dynamic effects of the earthquake wave propagation if the supports are able to move independently. In this study, the multi-support excitation analysis of multi-story, multi bay frames is performed by using displacement loading which defines the seismic load depending on the ground displacement. The modal analysis procedure of the structures subjected to multi-support excitations is given in detail and the effect of pseudo-static displacement on the dynamic response of the structure is highlighted. A static correction approach is implemented with a numerical example to reflect the higher mode effects which are a natural result of displacement loading.
