Measurement of the Differential Dijet Production Cross Section in Proton-Proton Collisions at Root S=7 Tev
    (Elsevier Ltd., 2011) Karapınar, Güler
A measurement of the double-differential inclusive dijet production cross section in proton-proton collisions at root s = 7 TeV is presented as a function of the dijet invariant mass and jet rapidity. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 36 pb(-1), recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC. The measurement covers the dijet mass range 0.2 TeV to 3.5 TeV and jet rapidities up to vertical bar y vertical bar = 2.5. It is found to be in good agreement with next-to-leading-order QCD predictions. (C) 2011 CERN. Published by Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Fragmentation of J/Psi in jets in pp collisions at root S=5.02 TeV batoul diab for the CMS collaboration
(Elsevier Ltd., 2019) Karapınar, Güler; CMS Collaboration
The fragmentation of jets containing a J/psi meson is studied in root s = 5.02 TeV pp data using an integrated luminosity of L = 27.39 pb(-1). The fraction of the jet transverse momentum p(Tjet) carried by the J/psi is measured for prompt J/psi and J/psi coming from b hadron decays, named nonprompt. Whereas the fragmentation function of nonprompt J/psi is well-modeled by simulations using a Monte Carlo generator, the prompt J/psi are found to be accompanied by a larger level of jet activity. The fraction of J/psi mesons that are produced inside a jet is also reported, and found to be larger in data than in simulation, for both prompt and nonprompt J/psi.

Measurements of Tt¯ Cross Sections in Association With B Jets and Inclusive Jets and Their Ratio Using Dilepton Final States in Pp Collisions at S=13tev
(Elsevier Ltd., 2018) CMS Collaboration; Karapınar, Güler
The cross sections for the production of tt¯bb¯ and tt¯jj events and their ratio σtt¯bb¯/σtt¯jj are measured using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.3 fb−1collected in pp collisions at s=13 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC. Events with two leptons (e or μ) and at least four reconstructed jets, including at least two identified as b quark jets, in the final state are selected. In the full phase space, the measured ratio is 0.022±0.003(stat)±0.006(syst), the cross section σtt¯bb¯ is 4.0±0.6(stat)±1.3(syst) pb and σtt¯jj is 184±6(stat)±33(syst) pb. The measurements are compared with the standard model expectations obtained from a POWHEG simulation at next-to-leading-order interfaced with PYTHIA.

Search for Excited Quarks in the ? + Jet Final State in Proton-Proton Collisions at S=8tev
(Elsevier Ltd., 2014) CMS Collaboration; Karapınar, Güler
A search for excited quarks decaying into the γ + jet final state is presented. The analysis is based on data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb-1 collected by the CMS experiment in proton-proton collisions at √s=8TeV at the LHC. Events with photons and jets with high transverse momenta are selected and the γ + jet invariant mass distribution is studied to search for a resonance peak. The 95% confidence level upper limits on the product of cross section and branching fraction are evaluated as a function of the excited quark mass. Limits on excited quarks are presented as a function of their mass and coupling strength; masses below 3.5 TeV are excluded at 95% confidence level for unit couplings to their standard model partners. © 2014 The Authors.
