The Department of Modern Languages offers undergraduate students of all faculties compulsory courses in English and elective courses in French, Japanese, Spanish, German and Russian. Our courses are designed to improve our students’ reading, writing, speaking and listening skills at various levels. Through the acquisition of a foreign language, our students also gain insight into the corresponding culture.

– Sophomores in the Departments of Architecture and City and Regional Planning in the fall term
– Juniors in the Department of Food Engineering in the fall term
– Juniors in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the spring term
We also offer French, Japanese, Spanish, Italian and Russian courses to our students as of their second year as undergraduates.
