Genetik Algoritma ile Çok Kullanıcı Dfbç Sistemleri için Toplam Veri Hızı Enbüyüklemeli Uyarlanır Alttaşıyıcı ve Bit Yerleşimi
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2008) Özbek, Berna; Le Ruyet, Didier
In this work, we perform the adaptive subcarrier and bit allocation to maximize the sum data rate for multiuser OFDM systems using genetic algorithm. Since the convergence time of the genetic algorithm could be slow, we propose to use a different initial condition to accelerate it without increasing the complexity of genetic algorithm and sacrificing the performance of the system. We obtain the simulation results and compare them with the classical methods. We show that the genetic algorithm with proposed initial condition gives better performances than the classical ones for sum data rate maximized allocation.

Key Error Rates in Physical Layer Key Generation: Theoretical Analysis and Measurement-Based Verification
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2017) Topal, Ozan Alp; Karabulut Kurt, Güneş; Özbek, Berna
Channel gains are frequently used to obtain a secret key that can be used for encryption in physical layer security systems. However, the channel gains captured by the nodes may not always be the same due to channel estimation errors. This would result in a non-zero key error rate (KER). In this letter, we obtain theoretical expressions for KER in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing systems. Tight KER approximations are provided based on Gauss-Laguerre quadrature. A measurementbased study is conducted by using software defined radio nodes to demonstrate the validity and the practicality of the provided results.

Radio Resource Management for Ofdma-Based Mobile Relay Enhanced Heterogenous Cellular Networks
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2013) Baştürk, İlhan; Özbek, Berna; Edemen, Çağatay; Tan, Ahmet Serdar; Zeydan, Engin; Ergüt, Salih
In this paper, we focus on the radio resource management problem for the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA)-based mobile relay-enhanced het erogenous cellular networks. We combine mobile relaying and data offloading scenarios to increase the capacity of the system and cope with the mobile data traffic volume that is increased by the number of wireless subscribers accessing mobile data services. We propose network interface selection, relay selection and resource allocation solutions for this scenario and show effect of relaying and data offloading on the system capacity and on the ratio of satisfied users. © 2013 IEEE.

Reduced Feedback Designs for Sdma-Ofdma Systems
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2009) Özbek, Berna; Le Ruyet, Didier
In SDMA-OFDMA wireless communication systems, the feedback load increases with the number of users, subcarriers and antennas in the cell. In this paper, we propose two efficient reduced feedback algorithms by selecting the clusters at the user side. For each cluster, we select the users according to their norm and their orthogonality. We evaluate the performance of the user selection algorithms considering the quantization effect. We also design a specific codebook design to quantize CSI for the proposed criterion.

Testbed Sdr Implementation Approach for Millimetre Wave Iot Applications
(IEEE, 2022) Glazkov, Roman; Özbek, Berna; Pyattaev, Alexander; Musavian, Leila; Koucheryavy, Yevgeni
Millimetre wave (mmWave) communication is a promising technology which can fulfil the growing demands for spectrum for future wireless networks. One of the key areas for the development of the mmWave networks is the Internet of Things (IoT) communications within fifth generation (5G) and beyond 5G networks. For significant analysis and development of the compliant IoT systems through testbed implementation, current mmWave spectrum transceivers are too expensive when substantial number of the nodes is required by the IoT applications. Considering all the above, it is suggested to use Software Defined Radio (SDR) transceivers with a lower frequency band and with an increased distance between the nodes. The idea is to scale observation time and distance to emulate mmWave radio without actual mmWave hardware. Using scaling factors for the certain system parameters to keep the signal characteristics in accordance with the mmWave band makes it possible. This approach allows to develop mmWave IoT testbeds with significant improvement in the system scalability and cost-effectiveness without the need to transmit and receive the signal in the mmWave band. In this paper, the concept of SDR-based Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) system combined with the observation time and distance scaling approach is proposed. As an example, a testbed with a simple Wireless Physical Network Coding scheme is implemented and demonstrated. © 2022 IEEE.

Partial and Analog Feedback for Miso Precoding Systems
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2007) Le Ruyet, Didier; Özbek, Berna
We consider a multiple input single output antenna system with a feedback link. While most of the previous works have considered perfect feedback channels, in this paper, we evaluate the impact of a noisy feedback channel on the quality and the performance of the transmission. We compare the finite rate feedback scheme with the analog feedback schemes where the channel parameters are transmitted without quantization over the uplink channel. Two analog feedback schemes are considered : the feedback of the channel vector and the feedback of the normalized channel vector. We provide bounds on the performance and give numerical results. We have shown that at low to medium uplink SNR the analog feedback of the normalized channel vector outperforms the analog feedback of the channel vector. Depending on the range of uplink SNR, quantized feedback can perform poorlz y compared to analog feedback.

On stream selection for interference alignment in heterogeneous networks
(Springer Verlag, 2016) Aycan, Esra; Özbek, Berna; Le Ruyet, Didier
This paper proposes a stream selection algorithm to deal with the interference and increase the sum capacity in the context of heterogeneous networks where cells of different types coexist. Due to the different transmit powers between the macro and small cells, interference levels are also different. Since the small cells are densely deployed, fully connected interference network between small cells is considered in this paper. The proposed algorithm performs the selection of a stream sequence among a predetermined set of sequences. Those selected sequences are the ones that mostly contribute to the sum rate when performing the exhaustive search. As a consequence, since the search space is reduced, the complexity is significantly decreased. These stream sequences form a regular structure where the first stream is associated to a pico user. Another distinguishing property of the proposed approach is that the stream sequences include at least one stream for each user. When selecting the streams, the channel matrices of the unselected streams are projected orthogonally to the virtual transmit and virtual receive channels of the selected stream in order to align the interference in the null space of these virtual channels. The performance evaluations are carried out by considering different scenarios with different numbers and locations of pico cells. It is shown that the proposed method can significantly reduce the computational complexity while achieving a very close performance to the exhaustive search.

Traffic Aware Cell Selection Algorithm for Tetra Trunk Based Professional Mobile Radio
(Springer Verlag, 2019) Özbek, Berna; Karataş, Azad; Bardak, Erinç Deniz; Sönmez, İlker
Load balancing and traffic management are the critical needs in cell selection decision for a better and seamless communication demands in professional mobile radios. For the cases where cell selection algorithms do not consider the traffic load, there may be call drops due to the congestion in networks or longer call setup times for the users. These undesired consequences can cause dramatic quality degradation especially for the emergency cases or public safety services. In this paper, we propose two algorithms for Tetra Trunk based professional mobile radios by considering both traffic load and received signal strength indication (RSSI) in order to reduce the significant delays while establishing transmissions. The proposed full set cell selection algorithm is prioritized to reduce the call setup time for the mobile users and the proposed reduced set cell selection algorithm is focused on minimizing the number of RSSI measurements which causes significant delay in practical professional mobile radio. We illustrate the performance results in terms of delay for Tetra Trunk based professional mobile radio.
