Abstract
This paper presents the sensor development and calibration stages of a novel monitoring platform that is designed for industrial microwave ovens. The monitoring unit is based on fiber Bragg grating sensors providing 2D quasi-distributed temperature measurement inside a high microwave power environment. We discussed the main design issues and experimentally demonstrated the sensor calibration set-up. Repeatability measurements highlighted a standard deviation on the sensitivity values smaller than 0.4 pm/°C. © 2023 IEEE.
